GIFT (Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer) is an assisted reproductive procedure where a woman’s eggs and sperm are combined and immediately placed into her fallopian tube via a laparoscopic procedure, allowing fertilization to happen naturally inside the body, unlike IVF where it occurs in a lab. This technique requires healthy fallopian tubes and is not suitable for cases involving tubal blockage, significant tubal damage, uterine abnormalities, or male factor infertility. Notably, Alpha IVF was responsible for the world’s first GIFT baby for women with Mullerian Dysgenesis.
